WWE United States Champion Sheamus

The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus, had a memorable Wrestlemania. He defeated Riddle to become the new WWE United States Champion, on Night Two of Wrestlemania 37. The duo had a very brutal match and Riddle even bled during the match.

The new United States Champion has been delivering some brutal matches regularly since the last few weeks. He is currently 43, and is consistently performing at a level which is much above than most of the younger stars.

It seems like Sheamus has managed to inspire a former King of the Ring to make his return to in-ring action. Wade Barrett recently sat down with Vic Joseph for a special episode of After the Bell. The former Intercontinental Champion mentioned that Sheamus was like Benjamin Button (seems younger as he is growing older).

“Well, Sheamus is like Benjamin Button. He’s actually older than me and somehow he’s still going as good as ever, if not better. So, hats off to him. I hit 35 and I started getting one foot out of the wrestling ring and into other things at that point, although maybe I’m not done for good, we’ll see, but Sheamus, he goes as hard as ever and good for him. I’m glad he’s done knocking about in the mix of the upper echelon of WWE.”

Sheamus delivered a stunning Brogue Kick onto Riddle, while he was attempting a springboard moonsalt. He showcased unbelievable athleticism and his US title win only solidifies the statement.

Sheamus still has a lot to offer to the wrestling world and is even getting the push from the company now. He did not appear on the fallout episode of Raw, but we could see him kick-off a new feud on the upcoming episodes of Raw.
