Shreyas Iyer suffered from a serious shoulder dislocation during India’s first ODI against England and as things stand, his participation in the remainder of the series as well as the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) where he is Delhi Capitals’ captain has been ruled out. DC co-owner Parth Jindal took to Twitter to state that he was devastated with the franchise’s captain’s injury thereby confirming that he won’t take part.
The injury occurred during the 8th over of England’s innings in the first ODI in Pune when the 26-year-old dived to stop a boundary and was successful in doing so. However, he landed hard on his left shoulder and was left writhing in pain as teammates and the physio rushed to his aid. He was taken off the field and to a nearby hospital where scans were taken before it was reported about his availability.
