Minecraft is a open world sand-box game with many features that may surprise the players once they find them. Enchantments are one such feature and we take a look at what does Smite do in Minecraft.
Enchantments are an essential part of the game and is a big upgrade for the late game. This helps the player by buffing their items and armor to help them tackle end-game bosses and get better loot. Some Enchantments are also very specific and can only affect certain things in the game.
One of them is the Smite and we see what does Smite do in Minecraft.
Smite in Minecraft
The Smite is a pretty simple Enchantment that the players can get on a variety of weapons. Basically this enchantment increases the damage dealt to undead mbs.
This is a damage buff that is only effective against undead mobs like zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons and withers, This Enchantment has 5 levels, with Smite V being the strongest. With each level up, the damage increases by 2.5.
What does Smite do in Minecraft?
Smite increases the damage against undead mobs by a lot. If a Netherite Sword with a base damage of 8 is taken into account, then Smite V increases the total damage against undead mobs to almost 20.5 health damage!
The complete list of mobs that can be dealt higher damage with Smite in Minecraft are:
- Zombie Villagers
- Wither Skeletons
- Zombie Piglins
- Skeleton Horses
- Zombie Horses
Since undead mobs are common, the damage will be handy in many instances. Players can enchant the following weapons with Smite:
- Sword (all Variants)
- Axe (all Variants)
However, players need to be aware that Sharpness, Smite, Cleaving and Bane of Arthropods are exclusive and two cannot be applied to the same weapon.
Players need to make a Enchanting Table and Lapis Lazulli to apply the effect on the weapon. The players also need bookshelves as they increase the chance of enchanting levels.
