“Some people were overconfident there”, French open Director on Djokovic’s Adria Tour debacle


Guy Forget, French Open tournament director spoke about World No.1 Novak Djokovic and other tennis stars who attended Adria’s tour. People are speculating that the French Open, can allow an audience like Adria Tour.

In an interview with Reuters, Forget talked about the Adria tour debacle and how French Open is going to be different.

He said, “Maybe some people were overconfident there. Luckily no one got hurt bad but even a few cases are too much and we want to avoid that as much as we can. We want to reassure everyone that having people getting ill will be terrible for us. Let’s be careful, really cautious.”

Forget further added, “We all see soccer on television, it’s wonderful but something is missing without the crowds. We are working closely with the administration, the government, to make sure we can provide some crowd while still following very strict security measures.”

This is the first time the French Open is going to be organized in the month of September, which means a different situation. Also, With no BIG player clearing the air about his participation, we will have to see who will ace the trophy in 2020.
