On Thursday, Inter Milan eased past bottom side SPAL, winning 4-0 to move second in Series A and closing the Juventus lead gap to six points with five games left.
Alexis Sanchez started his turnaround when he set the first goal in the first half for Antonio Candreva and added his name on the score-sheet for the third goal of the night. The other two goals were scored by Cristiano Biraghi, and Roberto Gagliardini.
SPAL battled hard in the first half of this Serie A clash and did well to restrict Inter to just one goal, courtesy of Candreva.
However, Antonio Conte’s side opened the floodgates in the second half as Inter side showed their class with some fantastically taken goals from Biraghi and Sanchez before Gagliardini further extend the lead to four goals to nil and put the game to bed.
SPAL will go to Brescia next with their relegation from Serie A. While, Inter will take on Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli and Atalanta – tricky run of games in their remaining four matches for the season.
Inter need to win all of these games to have any hope of catching Juventus at the top of the Serie A table. Antonio Conte’s Inter have 71 points out of 33 games while Juventus has 77, seeking a ninth consecutive crown.
Inter Milan will take on Roma in their next Serie A game on Monday, 20th of July.
