SPOILER: Former Olympic Gold Medalist to reportedly make WWE SmackDown DEBUT Tonight
Former Olympic Gold Medalist is heading way to Smackdown.
Former Olympic Gold Medalist, Gable Steveson who signed with WWE in September 2021, is now being rumored to make his debut on tonight’s SmackDown. Steveson was all set to receive a huge push on the main roster before the plans were dropped. But it now seems the company has found the perfect opportunity for Stevenson to introduce him to the Blue brand.
Tonight’s SmackDown is scheduled at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and interestingly another former gold medalist, Kurt Angle is slated to appear on today’s SmackDown for celebration of his 54th birthday in front of his home crowd. It would not be a surprise if the two Olympic winners come face to face tonight.
Addressing the situation, PWInsider has reported – “Former Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson was spotted in Pittsburgh, PA earlier today, so it may be he’s in town for Smackdown. Like Kurt Angle, who is having a birthday celebration tonight as part of the FOX broadcast, Steveson is an amazing collegiate wrestler, so it’s possible they could pop up together on TV in some fashion tonight.”
It was earlier reported that Steveson is undergoing training under Ken Anderson aka Mr. Kennedy, and is also wrestling practice matches at WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Not only this, Gable Steveson’s brother Damon Kemp is slowly rising the ranks in the NXT division as the member of Diamond Mind Stable as WWE still looks for him to be a potential star.

Gable Steveson’s main roster push was halted due to this reason
Gable Steveson had signed with WWE in 2021, after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Gold Medalist expressed his desire to become a WWE Superstar. The company didn’t waste a lot of time to offer Steveson a NIL (Next In Line).contract which promised Big things for Steveson.
Steveson was drafted to RAW but never showed up on the Red brand. Gable was first seen in a squared circle at WrestleMania 38 where after a short introduction by Stephanie McMahon on the Night 1, Gable made it clear very soon that he was not here to play, as he confronted Chad Gable on the next night.
Steveson delivered Chad Gable a german suplex to announce his arrival. However, he was not seen again for a long time. This led to many people thinking if Gable Steveson had dropped the idea of joining professional wrestling.

But later it was revealed that Gable has a rare heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) and had to undergo a procedure in September 2022 and due to this the initial plans for him were not executed due to the procedure in line.
