Hockey sensation, Dhanraj Pillay on Monday donated a sum of Rs 5 lakh to Prime Minister’s Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations fund, Ii.e (PM-CARES)  PM-CARES Fund to help the country in its fight against the coronavirus..
In a statement, Pillay was qouted saying, “We all are safe and fine and are following the PM’s instructions. I have contributed Rs 5 lakh towards the PM-CARES Fund for combating COVID-19.”
Earlier, Indian shooter Pankaj Advani also donated Rs 5 lakh towards the PM-CARES Fund.
After PM Narendra Modi announced the establishment of the PM-CARES Fund (Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund), many sportspersons have come forward to contribute and help the country in its fight against COVID-19.
Earlier, Many cricketers like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly also came up with ‘their bit’ for the cause.
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India have gone up to 4,281, in which there are 111 casualties, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.
