Indian cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar has always proved that besides being a great batsman on the field, he is a great person off the field too. Recently, he has come up to help the people of the country by feeding 5000 people who are suffering during this lockdown and are unable to get proper food.
Reportedly, Tendulkar replied to the tweet of NGO Apnalaya which read, “My best wishes to @ApnalayaTweets to continue your work in the service of the distressed and needy. Keep up your good work?.”
Interestingly, Apnalaya tweeted to thank Sachin for stepping up for the needy during these testing times, the Tweet read, “Thankyou @sachin_rt for stepping in and helping. Apnalaya help the ones suffering the most during lockdown. He will be taking care of the ration of around 5000 people for a month. There are many more individuals who need your support, people! Donate below.”
Earlier, Tendulkar also donated Rs. 50 Lakhs to the PM-CARES fund in order to help the nation in its fight against ‘The Novel Coronavirus ‘COVID-19′ pandemic’. According to the report of the Ministry of Health, the Total cases of corona positive patients have increased to 6,412 and active cases are 5,709 out of which 503 have been cured.
The Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 was declared a Pandemic by WHO on March 11th.
