The first Test between Sri Lanka and England is currently being played at the Galle International Stadium. At the end of Day 4’s play, England need just 36 runs to win the Test having lost just three wickets. The Test is expected to come to an end tomorrow in the morning with an English victory and the reason for the same would be the horror show by the Lankan batsmen in the first innings.
Joe Root’s double-hundred for England then put them on course for an innings victory but a stubborn resistance from the Sri Lankans led by Lahiru Thirimanne and Angelo Matthew meant it was averted and England had to chase just 74 runs for the win. England will, in all probability, go into the second and final Test with a 1-0 lead.
Dickewella smacks Hasaranga by mistake
In England’s second innings, Niroshan Dickwella ran out the first innings double-centurion and English skipper Joe Root. The Sri Lankans then joined in to celebrate and in the process, Dickwella missed a ‘high-five’ to Wanindu Hasaranga and smacked him on the face by mistake.
This hilarious incident has since then gone viral with fans reacting to the funny yet unfortunate incident. English women’s team cricketer Kate Cross shared a video of the incident and captioned it, “Whoooops“.
