Novak Djokovic is always into controversy for some reason and the Adria tour disaster added more to it. He was criticized by almost everyone for not following guidelines during the tour and later 4 players, including himself, tested positive for COVID19.

Novak Djokovic’s problems don’t stop here, his father, Srdjan Djokovic, adds more to it by criticizing other players, especially his son’s top rival, Roger Federer.

Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic’s rivalry reached a new level after last year Wimbledon, where Novak won in an epic final. However, Novak Djokovic respects his rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. But his father seems to have no respect for them and targets especially Roger Federer with his insensitive comments.

Stefan Koubek, the Austrian Davis Cup captain, has lashed out on Djokovic’s father for his comments on Roger Federer. In June, Novak Djokovic’s father Srdjan Djokovic claimed that Roger Federer is playing tennis out of fear.

“He cannot accept that Nadal and Novak will overtake him.” He also had some advice to Roger saying “Raise your children and go skiing!”

In a talk with Kronen Zeitung, the Austrian talked about the comments from Srdjan Djokovic,

“There are things that can be saved. I don’t know what Papa Djokovic wanted to do with it. If son Novak said something like that himself, it would be something else. But he could not understand “why the environment always emits such things”

Koubek also hopes that Federer continues to play for a long time,

“Federer is the king of tennis, the player of all time. If he’s still playing, that’s good for everyone. Please play for another five years”

Fans should still be able to enjoy seeing Federer play on the tour. The Swiss is planning a comeback in 2021 after another knee surgery.
