Subhankar Dey finishes runners up at Italian open 2019

Subhankar Dey finishes 2019 season on positive note, though 2019 season was very average for his career. He reached final of Italian open in 2019, which is BWF international challenge event. Currently he is ranked 46th on BWF ranking.

In 2019 BWF badminton season he played 34 matches, winnning  17 matches and lost 17 matches.His biggest win came against Indonesian giant Tommy SUGIARTO at YONEX FRENCH OPEN 2019 this year. Last year he won SaarLorLux Open, which is BWF super 100 event.

Subhankar Dey entered Italian open 2019 as 2nd seed. On his way to final he defeated compatriot Harsheel DANI 21-15,21-14 to reach 2nd round, reaches quarterfinal after defeating Vladimir MALKOV 21-12,17-21,21-9. He kept on his winning run as he outshine 6th seed Ygor COELHO 21-18,21-17 to reach semifinal.

In semifinal he scored another superb victory over Toma Junior POPOV 21-17,21-19. In the final, he was up against faced Christo POPOV. But  POPOV has won the hard fought battle 21-16,22-20 to clinch the title.
