Mumbai had scored 196 runs in the first innings thanks to quick-fire knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Aditya Tare and Suryakumar Yadav. Jalaj Saxena and KM Asif shone for Kerala with 3 wickets apiece.

In the second innings, it was all Azharuddeen as he came out all guns blazing and aced the chase in less than 16 overs.
