T Natarajan was dealt a big setback when suffered a knee injury and was ruled out of the entirety of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The left-arm pacer had a fairytale year in 2020 as he made his name known with a stupendous performance in the IPL in UAE. He bowled the highest amount of yorkers in the tournament and was among the most reliable death bowlers in the tournament.
His performances were rewarded with a call-up to the national team and following various injuries that occurred during the tour of Australia, the 30-year-old made his debut in all three formats and impressed throughout. He was also excellent at the death in the series of England that followed as he entered into IPL 2021 full of confidence. However, a knee injury meant that he was ruled out of the entirety of the tournament.
T Natarajan announces news of successful surgery
T Natarajan took to Twitter and Instagram today to announce the news of his successful surgery. He wrote, “Today, I underwent knee surgery- and am grateful for the expertise, attention and kindness of the medical team, surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff. I’m grateful to #bcci and to all that have wished well for me.”
“The road back to the 22 yards is long. But I have taken the most crucial step today. Looking forward to coming back – stronger and fitter than ever before. Thanks to all of you for your support, blessings and good wishes,” he added.
Natarajan’s IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad are in a spot of bother as they find themselves at the bottom of the table after five games. The David Warner-led side would want to turn things around quickly and the first step towards that would be a win tomorrow against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
