India’s top paddler Achanta Sarath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran has made it to main draw of Hungarian Open in men’s doubles. In second preliminary round they defeated Turkish pair of Ibrahim Gunduz/Abdullah Yigenler by 3-1. They will face Japanese pair Shunsuke Togami/Yukiya Uda in round of 16.
Pair of Harmeet Desai/ Manav Vikas Thakkar also made it to round of 16 as they defeated Swedish pair of Jon Persson/Truls Moregard by 3-2. Now the will face tough challenge from Lam Siu Hang/NG Pak Nam of Hong Kong in R16.
In mixed doubles, pair of Manika Batra/Achanta Sharath Kamal also reached round of sixteen after defeating Aliasandr Khanin/Daria Trigolos in second prelim round. Now they will be up against world number 14 duo of Adam/Szudi/Szandra Pregel in pre-quarterfinal.
In men’s singles Sathiyan was already placed in main draw due to good ranking. Harmeet Desai will fight it out in prelims fourth round for a place in main draw. Sharath Kamal and Manav Thakkar lost in preliminary rounds.

In women’s singles Manika Batra is into the main draw as she defeated Aikaterini Toliou of Greece by 4-0. Sutirtha Mukharjee failed to book her a place in main draw as she lost to Britt EERland of Nederlands by 4-2.
