Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Early Life

Giannis Antetokounmpo was born in Athen, Greece on December 6, 1994, to Charles Antetokounmpo and Veronica Antetokounmpo. Both his parents were former athletes in Nigeria. His mother was a high jumper and his dad, Charles was a soccer player. Giannis Antetokounmpo though has seen a lot of things growing up as earlier his life was full of struggles. But his hard work and talent changed it all. From not having citizenship or any papers to claim his nationality to representing Greek, and having dual citizenship Giannis has done it all on and off the court.

Giannis Antetokounmpo started playing basketball in 2007 and soon he was listed by several clubs. But he got his perfect moment and chance to ball out with the Milwaukee Bucks. After, they drafted him as the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. And, just in a decade, he has established himself as one of the many greats the game has seen.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is probably not even halfway through his career. But he already has got himself a hard-to-match resume with unbelievable records. As he’s an NBA champion and Finals MVP. The 7× All-Star also has two MVP awards and one All-Star Game MVP award too. He even has a DPOY award and was also the Most Improved Player during the 2017 season where he erupted to become a superstar. Giannis Antetokounmpo also has multiple All-NBA and Defensive team selections.
