Alex Albon, born Alexander Albon Ansusinha, is a Thai-British racing driver who currently competes for Williams in Formula 1. He was born on March 23, 1996, in London, to former British racing driver, Nigel, and his Thai mother, Kankamol. He previously drove for Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso, the latter being the team he made his debut with.

When did Alex Albon join Formula 1?

Alex Albon made his debut for Toro Rosso at the 2018 Australian Grand Prix, where he finished 13th. Half a season later, he was promoted to the main team, replacing Pierre Gasly, and finished in the top 6 in every race except the Brazilian GP. In his first full season as a Formula 1 driver, Albon finished 7th with 105 points. It was not enough to keep his seat, and for the 2021 season, he was replaced by Sergio Perez.

What are Alex Albon’s achievements?

Albon has not yet won any races or taken any pole positions. But he has finished on the podium twice, both times being a P3 finish, in 2020, at the Tuscan GP and the Bahrain GP. In his junior racing career, he finished second in the 2016 GP3 series, and third in the 2018 Formula 2 season. In his year off (in 2021) from Formula 1, he also competed in DTM, where he finished sixth, having competed in 14/16 races.
