Charles Barkley, born February 20, 1963, was a perennial All-star who earned MVP honors in 1993. He employed a style of play that earned him the name “The Round Mound of Rebound.” He is among the few players in NBA history to record 4,000 assists, 10,000 rebounds, and 20,000 points. Barkley was honored as one of the 50 greatest players of all time on the NBA’s 50th Anniversary.

The Philadelphia 76ers chose Charles Barkley as the fifth overall pick of the 1984 NBA draft. He soon turned leader for the franchise; however, the 76ers’ success as a team was limited. In 1992, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. After a couple of years of Barkley continuing to play elite basketball, he was traded to the Houston Rockets in 1996. He finally called it a career in 2000.
