The Dallas Cowboys were recently involved in a voyeurism scandal that saw them accept a $2.4 million settlement with 4 cheerleaders after they were reportedly recorded while changing in 2015. However, the team launched an investigation that resulted in them concluding that no wrongdoing had occurred. This makes the decision to settle and pay out such a large sum extremely confusing. Normally, these events are swept under the rug (however immoral that may seem) and no one really addresses it. Jerry Jones is no regular owner, however. A vital part of what our organization is, the Dallas Cowboys. We took these allegations very seriously. We immediately began to look-see, an investigation into the situation. I can assure you that had we found that it need be, there would have been firings or there would have been suspensions" https://twitter.com/dallastexastv/status/1497604828314456069?s12 Jones further added "As it turns out, in the best interest of our cheerleaders, and the best interest of the organization, in the best interest of our fans, what we decided to do was show the cheerleaders how seriously we took these allegations and we wanted them to know that we were real serious and so the settlement was the way to go" It's odd that the Dallas Cowboys found no wrongdoing in their investigation but what perhaps is odder is the fact that the NFL didn't conduct the investigation themselves. This comes quite soon after the commissioner, Roger Goodell, stated that no team will be allowed to investigate itself in relation to the Washington Commanders' allegations. Given the way the situation played out and how the Cowboys somehow managed to gather much media attention for this, with Jerry Jones now speaking out about it and giving a somewhat confusing explanation, one can only wonder if that will draw more attention to Dallas when they are clearly trying to move on from this.
