Pablo Martín Páez Gavira, known as Gavi, is a professional footballer from Spain who plays for La Liga club F C Barcelona as a Central Midfielder. He was born on 5 August 2004 at Los Palacios y Villafranca, Andalusia. He is known for his impressive dribbling, anticipation, vision, passing, first touch, close control, change of pace, and intelligence turns. He is expected to be the successor of Barcelona legends Xavi and Iniesta.

When did Gavi make his senior team debut?

Gavi made a name for himself in the lower tiers of Spanish football, La Liara Balompié, before being scouted by Real Bettis Academy. Barcelona signed him in 2011, and on 29 August 2021, Gavi made his Barca senior team debut. He made his international debut for the Spanish national team on 6 October 2021 against Italy in UEFA Nations League semi-final.

Gavi won the 2023 Super Copa with Barcelona, the only senior title. He won the Kopa Trophy and the UEFA Golden Boy awards in 2022. Gavi scored his first senior goal on 18 December 2021 against Elche. His maiden senior international goal for Spain came on 5 June 2022 Czech Republic, earning him the record of youngest ever goal scorer for Spain. With his goal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup goal against Costa Rica, he became the third youngest goal scorer of the tournament.
