Andreescu hasn’t had a happy return after being forced into extended rehab at the end of a breakthrough year in which she won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open, defeating Serena Williams in the final, and then getting past the champion again, even by virtue of a walkover in the Canadian Open final.

Andreescu travelled to Berlin for the Grass Court Championships, hoping to get back on track before Wimbledon, but she was eliminated in the first round after losing to Frenchwoman Alize Cornet. Now, In the round of 32 at the Vikings International Open, she will face Madison Keys. The competition will be place in Eastbourne on June 21, 2021.

Madison Keys, on the other hand, seemed in excellent form but fell to Samsonova in a three-set thriller in the quarterfinals of the Berlin Open earlier this week. She also shocked everyone by defeating Sabalenka in the round of 16. It’s no wonder that her form is improving on grass, given it’s a surface where she’s previously excelled.
