Barty talks about the Bubble Life at Wimbledon
Many players have found the bubble-life difficult to stay in and how it impacts the motivation of them to play. However, Barty did not share the same opinion.
“The bubble is all worth it. To be able to experience moments like this, on the beautiful centre court, it was my first time playing with the roof as well and when it was closing, Carla and I were both looking, picking our time and looking at it is unbelievable.
“To play on centre court and my first round there against Carla was also makes the bubble all worth it. It’s something that you have to do to play at Wimbledon. Bubble for me is no issue.” said Barty weighing in on the much debated Bubble life issue.” said Barty about the bubble life.
Ashleigh Barty delighted with her performance
Barty was happy with her performance despite having lost the chance to close the match in the 2nd set. She came back stronger in the 3rd set and was 5-0 up before Carla won 1 game and Barty the next to win the tie.
“It has been a while but it hasn’t felt like that. Grass court tennis has always felt like it has come quite naturally to me and it’s just about going there and play my best on that day and I was able to serve well and control the court and had just one hiccup, serving for the match, it was really good.
“We obviously go back and we debrief and go through of ways we can improve and be better from what we have learned from the match.” concluded Barty as she now prepares for her 2nd round match.
Ashleigh will play the winner of Anna Blinkova vs Timea Babbos in the 2nd round as she continues her chase for first Wimbledon title.
