Federico Coria has played most of his tournaments on Clay this year but he is yet to win a title. The Argentine has been busy on the Challenger level as well. His best run so far has come at the Cordoba Open 2021 where he reached till the semi-finals. This will be just his 2nd quarter-final appearance of the season.

He comes to Belgrade from the two successive Challenger tournaments which he played after the Madrid Masters 2021 where he was defeated in the first qualifying round. He sets up this massive tie with Novak after a 3-set win in the first round followed by a straight-set win in the second round.

Novak will be the favourite for this quarter-final clash as he comes in with amazing form as compared to Federico. However, Federico has a 11-11 record on Clay this season and and has maintained a great overall record on the Clay which give rise to his chances to cause an upset.

But keeping in mind the consistency and fighting spirit of Novak, it will be an uphill task for the 29-year old Argentine who will meet Novak for the first time on the court.
