British No.1 Cameron Norrie had a tremendous end to the 2021 season but hasn’t delivered yet this year. He bowed out of the first round of the Australian Open and then made it to the quarterfinals at ATP Rotterdam last week where he lost to Felix Auger Aliassime in straight sets. This week at Delray Beach, Norrie defeated Oscar Otte in the second round before avenging his Australian Open loss to Sebastian Korda in the Round of 16. He then blasted past 4th seed Tommy Paul in straight sets 6-3,6-3 to make it to the final.
American serving giant Reilly Opelka has rediscovered his game style this season. He reached the semifinal of the Sydney International tournament and then followed it up with a third-round outing at the Australian Open where he lost to Denis Shapovalov. Opelka tasted success last week at Dallas where he won the inaugural Dallas Open without dropping a set. At Delray Beach this week, he had to dig deep in all the three matches he has played so far. In the semifinals, he defeated John Millman in a three-set thriller 7-6(8),6-7(3),7-6(4).
