Men’s Singles Draw Analysis and Prediction

The top half of the draw is packed with in form players and will see some of the best matches early on in the tournament. Top seed Lorenzo Sonego and fourth seed Jan-Lennard Struff have been handed first round byes.

Other in form names in the half include Lorenzo Musetti, Sebastian Korda, Yoshihito Nishioka and Tommy Paul. Sonego will face the winner of Andreas Seppi vs Sebastian Korda in the Round of 16. He has been drawn with 8th seed Yoshihito Nishioka and could possibly face him in the quarter-final. But Nishioka will have to get past Lorenzo Musetti who faces Gianluca Mager in the opening round. Menwhile, Nishioka will face Sam Querrey in the first round.

As for Jan-Lennard Struff, he will face the inner of Flavio Cobolli vs Marcos Giron in the Round of 16. He could possibly face 6th seed Tommy Paul in quarterfinal. For that Paul will have to get past Stefano Travaglia in the first round and either Steve Johnson or Jiri Vesely in the Round of 16.

The second half of the draw features some lowkey talented players who are looking to find their lost form. World No.36 and second seed in the tournament Benoit Paire headlines the second half of the draw and has been given a first round bye along with third seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas.

Paire will face either a Qualifier or Jaume Munar in the Round of 16 and has been drawn alongside fifth seed and fellow Frenchman Richard Gasquet- whom he could face in the quarterfinal.

As for Ramos Vinolas, he will face the winner of a Qualifier and Emil Ruusuvori in the Round of 16. He could possibly face Aljaz Bedene, Salvatore Caruso or defending champion Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinal. Tiafoe will face Marco Cecchinato in the opening round.

The first semi-final between Sonego and Struff could possibly be the match of the tournament. Both players are very well on Clay but Sonego will have an edge given his exceptional run in Rome 10 days back.

Ramos Vinolas will have an edge in his match against Richard Gasquet. The Spaniard has a history of doing well at ATP 250 events and may just edge past the veteran Frenchman.
