Men’s Singles Draw Analysis and Prediction
Top-seeded Denis Shapovalov heads the top-half of the draws and is guaranteed a direct qualification into the 2nd round as he receives a bye in the first round. Local lad Marc-Andrea Huesler will be up against 8th seeded Spaniard veteran Feliciano Lopez in the first round and can expect Alex Molcan as his opponent in the 2nd round who will start against Mikael Ymer.
3rd seeded Casper Ruud also gets a bye in the first round and can expect Yannick Hanfmann in the 2nd round as the German comes from a semi-final run at the ATP Bastad Open in Sweden. 6th seeded Benoit Paire will open against Jozef Kovalik and could face Tallon Griekspoor in the 2nd round.
First Semi-Final Prediction: Denis Shapovalov vs Casper Ruud
2nd seeded Robert Bautista Agut gets a bye in the first round along with 4th seeded Cristian Garin entering round 2 directly. Wildcard entrants, Dominic Stricker and Leandro Riedi are placed in the bottom half and will begin against Arthur Rinderknech and 5th seeded Federico Delbonis respectively.
Garin can expect a match-up with Marc Polmans in the 2nd round while 7th seeded Laslo Djere will be facing either of the qualifiers who will confirm their berths on Sunday, 18th July.
Second Semi-Final Prediction: Laslo Djere vs Cristian Garin
Denis Shapovalov and Casper Ruud could set up their 2nd ever career meeting in the semi-finals and will meet again on Clay similar to their previous meeting in the finals of the 2021 Geneva Open where Ruud won in straight-sets to lift the title. Shapovalov has been in great form and will look to avenge the defeat.
Laslo Djere and Cristian Garin will be clashing in their 2nd tie and first on Clay. They have met earlier on the Challenger tournaments as well back in 2017 but have developed their games a lot since then. Djere will come from a semi-final defeat in the Hamburg Open while Garin enters from a quarter-final defeat at the Bastad Open.
Swiss Open Final Prediction: Casper Ruud vs Laslo Djere
Upcoming Clay specialist Casper Ruud will clash with Laslo Djere in the finals. While Laslo comes from some good results, Casper has been no less and one can expect the Norwegian to lift the title again as he will come from the finals of the Bastad Open where he looks the favourite for the title.
Champion: Casper Ruud
