Jennifer Brady vs Fiona Ferro: Preview

Jennifer Brady

American star, Jennifer Brady has been of the most improved player this season. The American reached the final of the Australian Open earlier this year before losing to Naomi Osaka. She also reached a career high ranking of No.13 in the process.

She is playing decent on the red too. She made it to the Round of 16 in Madrid, defeating the likes of Venus Williams and former Roland Garros Champion Jelena Ostapenko in the process. In Paris, she got the better of Anastasija Sevastova in the opening round in straights sets 6-3,6-3.

As for her opponent, Fiona Ferro, she had just played one tournament coming into Paris. She reached the quarter finals at Istanbul defeating second seed Petra Martic in the process. On home soil, she defeated Liang En-shuo in the first round in three sets 6-1,1-6,6-4.

This will be the first meeting between the duo. The two haven’t met on tour yet and hence their H2H stands deadlock at 0-0.

Jennifer Brady vs Fiona Ferro: Prediction

Despite her game not suiting Clay, Brady will go in as the favorite to win the match. She was just a step away from tasting grand slam glory in Melbourne, and that outing should definitely give her a perspective in keeping nerves tight in crunch moments. As always, her baseline groundstrokes will be the key and if Ferro wants to make an impact, she will have to make Brady move. Expect a tight match with the American cruising into the next round.

Prediction: Brady to win in straight sets.
