World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will be up against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the very highly-anticipated final of the French Open 2021 on Sunday. Djokovic recently defeated Rafael Nadal in the hard-fought semi-final clash. The ‘King of Clay’ had no answers to the astonishing gameplay of the Serbian national.
Although Djokovic holds the top spot in world rankings, Rafael Nadal has been the undisputed king of the French Open. The 13-time title winner was bamboozled by Novak. After dropping the first set, Djokovic made a stupendous comeback and never allowed Nadal to dictate the proceedings. He thrashed Nadal by 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 on Friday. Now he has to go past Greek sensation Tsitsipas.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic also became the first player to knock the ‘King of Clay’ out of the French Open in the semifinals. He will be riding high on confidence. Especially because Nadal was leading by 5-0 in the first set but the Serbian still managed to book a place in the finals.
On the other hand, Stefanos Tsitsipas had to fight really hard to go past sixth seed Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals. After winning the first two sets comfortably, the Greek tennis star dropped two sets back to back. However, in the final set, Tsitsipas held his nerves and knocked Zverev out of the competition.
Tsitsipas absolutely thrashed second-seeded Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals in straight sets. The Russian tennis star was in tremendous form up until his journey was halted was Tsitsipas. Fifth-seeded Tsitsipas would not go down easy in the finals against Djokovic.
