Raducanu was ranked 150th in the world before the US Open and she jumped into the top 30 after her triumph. And now, after a quarterfinal outing at the Transylvania Open, she has broken into the top 20 of the world. She now has 2627 points under her name and is the new World No.20.

In doing so, Raducanu becomes only the 5th British woman to break into the top 20 of the world. She joins the elite list which features Virginia Wade(1975), Sue Barker(1977), Jo Durie(1984) and Johanna Konta(2017).

Wade was the first British woman to win a grand slam in the open era. She won the 1968 US Open and followed it up with a couple of majors. She is till date the most successful female British player in the modern era with 3 grand slams. Sue Barker won the 1976 French Open and is a former World No.3.

Post the US Open triumph, Raducanu has played two tournaments, where she managed to win just two matches. Her very first title was a grand slam, so she is still looking for a maiden WTA title. This week, she is the top seed at Linz, and will fancy her chances to go deep in the tournament.

She opens her campaign against Wang Xinyu in the Round of 16 after receiving a first round bye.
