“This is ridiculous,” tennis fans fume over night session schedule at French Open 2021

For the first time ever, French Open organizers decided to hold night sessions at the tournament. However exciting as it may sound, yet fans are not happy with the schedule. With covid-19 restrictions in place in Paris, fans are not allowed to stay in the stadium after 9 pm local time which means that they cannot witness the night session matches from the stands.

Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas clashed in the quarterfinals of French Open 2021 on Tuesday. Many claimed it to be the match of the tournament so far, as two talented NextGen players locked horns againsh each other. However, the match was scheduled to be held in the night session, which did not go down well with the fans. There were several hardcore tennis fans who spoke out on Twitter, to voice their opinion against the night sessions in Paris.

One of the fans was simply unhappy with the fact that the best match of the tournament between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev would be played behind closed doors.

The quarterfinal did not live up to it’s expectations as Stefanos Tsitsipas secured a straight sets victory over the Russian. The fifth seed will now face the German, Alexander Zverev in the semifinals on Friday. Tsitsipas has been in solid form this tournament, and has not dropped a single set so far. He has already lifted two titles this season, as he claimed the Monte Carlo Masters and Lyon Open titles.
