Roger Federer vs Adrian Mannarino : Preview
8-time Champion Roger Federer will be back on his favourite hunting ground as he continues his chase for his 21st Grand Slam. The Swiss Maestro won his last Wimbledon title back in 2017 and came close to another title in 2019 Wimbledon but lost in 5-sets in the finals to arch rival Novak Djokovic who defended his 2018 title and won his 5th title at the SW-19.
Federer had pulled out of the 2021 French Open after his third round victory to maintain fitness for the Wimbledon and will be raring to go chasing the Championship title this year. He comes to Wimbledon from a shocking 2nd round defeat at the 2021 Halle Open in 3-sets.
Adrian Mannarino will be making his 13th appearance at the Wimbledon where his best result so far has been his 4th round run he made on 3 occasions in 2013, 2017 and 2018. He lost in the first round of the 2019 Wimbledon to Marin Cilic and faces another tough test this time around going up against Federer.
Mannarino had a poor season so far before this week. Mannarino is currently at the ATP Mallorca Open 2021 where he is scheduled to play in the semi-finals. Mannarino had gone 8 matches without a win which included another win-less Clay season, but now finds himself a step away from clinching a title having turned around his season this week at Mallorca.
Roger Federer vs Adrian Mannarino : Head to Head
This will be their 7th career meeting and 3rd on Grass. They last met in 4th round of the 2018 Wimbledon where like the previous 5 matches, Federer won the tie. Federer has lost only 1 set against Adrian in their 6 meetings and leads the head-to-head tie 6-0.
Roger Federer vs Adrian Mannarino : Prediction
Adrian will come into this tie with a career Grass record of 77-48 and an overall season record of 9-16. He will however be a little confident as he is having one of his best week of this season at the Mallorca Open. He has a record of 18-12 at Wimbledon.
Federer will take the court with an astonishing career Grass record of 177-20 and a season record of 5-3 after having missed large part of the season due to his injuries and rehabilitation. Federer has a record of 102-11 at Wimbledon and will be the favourite for this clash as well given his record at Wimbledon.
Prediction: Roger Federer to win in straight-sets.
