In the battle of the seeds, World No. 1 and the top seeded, Novak Djokovic will be up against World No. 9 and the 9th seeded Matteo Berrettini in their first Grand Slam meeting.

This will be 2nd meeting between the duo and first meeting on Clay as their previous meeting that happened at the 2019 Nitto ATP Finals, where Djokovic won in straight-sets.

Both the players have majority of their victories in straight-sets and have dropped sets in only 1 match with Djokovic dropping 2-sets in his 4th round win and Berretini dropping 1 in his 1st round win.

Novak comes into the quarter-finals from a crunch 4th round encounter with the Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti who had to retire mid-match in the 5th set and had won both of the opening sets in the match.

Berrettini had a walkover in the 4th round after Roger Federer had to withdraw from the tournament after an exhaustive 3rd round victory and keeping the upcoming Grass season in mind, the tour veteran decided to pull out from the tournament to maintain fitness.
