“I looked at him and couldn’t answer even a single word”- Sebastian Eguez left awe-struck on meeting Rafael Nadal

Bolivian tennis star Sebastian Eguez was at a loss of words when he met Rafael Nadal ahead of the Indian Wells.

Rafael Nadal has been one of the dominant players in the ATP circuit for nearly two decades. The former World No.1 is a force to reckon with in his prime. His on-court persistence and off-court down-to-earth personality have earned him countless fans across the world. He might be a tough rival on-court, but he has a good relationship with colleagues on a tour, off it.

His fans’ reaction to seeing the Spaniard is no different from his fellow athletes. Bolivian tennis star, Sebastian Eguez was left speechless after meeting Nadal. Both the players are in California as they gear up to compete at the first Masters 1000 tournament of the year, Indian Wells. The Bolivian was clearly elated on meeting Nadal and said he couldn’t even ‘answer a single word’ and was left star-struck on seeing the Spaniard.

“Incredible to have a laugh with Rafa! I didn’t know he was there and when he said “Good Morning” I looked at him and I couldn’t answer a single word. He probably thinks I have ADHD!!” Eguez quoted.

Rafael Nadal eyes fourth title at the Indian Wells

Nadal will be looking to maintain his perfect season and win his fourth consecutive title of the year at the Indian Wells. With his win in the finals of the Mexican Open. Nadal is currently on a 15-match unbeaten run and will be looking to extend his winning streak at the ATP Masters 1000 in California. He will take on either Sebastian Korda or any other qualifier in the opening round.

Nadal has an impressive record at the Indian Wells. He lifted the title 3 times and finished as a runner-up once, his latest win was during the 2013 edition, where he defeated Juan Martin Del Potro in the finals. The World No.4 will be keen on winning a 4th title and extending his tally of Masters 1000 titles to 37. He currently sits in the second position for the most ATP Masters 1000 titles won, just one behind Novak Djokovic (37).
