The youngster’s impressive performance has caught the attention of the former World No.1 Andy Murray. In fact, the three-time Grand Slam winner even took to Twitter and showered praise on Brooksby.

Amidst the praise, Murray also compared the American’s net play to the former ATP player from Germany Florian Mayer.

“Jenson Brooksby is the sort of player I love to watch, lots of variety, high tennis IQ, great in defence. His slice and backhand volley are almost identical to Florian Mayer,” Murray tweeted.

The Scot has often opined on various aspects on the sport and has also expressed his view freely on individual players, like he did some years ago about WTA player Caroline Garcia.

While the Frenchwoman hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations, the Americans are likely to pin their hopes on Brooksby to carry the legacy forward.
