Wimbledon 2021 announces the seedings for this year and it can be very expected that excitement is surely to go a level higher with fans waiting to see their favourite players don the whites and grace the lawns of the All-England Club.
The Championships will begin in Wimbledon from 28th June, 2021 and will concluded a fortnight later with the finals scheduled for 11th July, 2021.
The build-up to the Championships have seen a variety of winners coming through. The ATP Halle Open 2021 and the Queen’s Club 2021 are the only ATP-500 tournaments that take place before the Grand Slam as no Masters series is played on Grass. French youngster Ugo Humbert won the title in Halle whereas World No. 9 Matteo Berrettini won the title at the Queen’s Club.
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic retains the top-seed as he comes into the tournament as the defending champion from the 2019 edition and will aim for a hattrick of titles at the SW-19 while also look for his 3rd Grand Slam of the year as he won the 2021 Australian Open and also the 2021 French Open.
Top-10 seeds dominated by the Next-Gen stars, 8-time winner Roger Federer seeded 7th
With Rafael Nadal having announced his decision to skip the Championships this year along with the re-scheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the seedings have been adjusted accordingly. World No. 5 Dominic Thiem‘s injury at the ATP Mallorca Open 2021 has made the Austrian doubtful but he is yet to withdraw from the Grand Slam.
8-time champion and winner of 20 Grand Slams, Roger Federer is seeded 7th in the tournament and will come looking for his 21st Grand Slam. The Swiss Maestro made his return to Grass at his beloved Halle Open, but was handed a upset by Canadian youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime denying Federer his chance for 11th Halle title.

World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev takes the 2nd spot on the seedings, while World No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas who finished as the runner-up at the 2021 French Open occupies the 3rd seed with Nadal withdrawing his name from the competition. Austrian star, Dominic Thiem takes the 4th seed followed by the big German Alexander Zverev seeded 5th in the tournament.
While the Top-10 is certainly occupied by the youngsters on the tour, none of them have made it till the finals so far at the Wimbledon Championsips and it will be interesting to see how they take on the veterans Djokovic and Federer who will look to continue their domination at the tournament.
