Daniil Medvedev vs Cristian Garin : Preview
Daniil Medvedev continues his best run at the Roland Garros as he storms into the 4th round of the French Open 2021. Daniil had failed to win a single match in his last 4 appearances at the Grand Slam but has changed things year and reaches the Round of 16.
Medvedev comes into the tie with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 win in his 3rd round match against American Reilly Opelka. He won his 1st round match in straight-set but had to win in 4-sets in his 2nd round match.
Cristian Garin also makes his 4th round debut at the French Open as he stages another comeback to reach the Round of 16. After facing some early defeats in previous attempts, he has improved since then and makes this his best Grand Slam result so far.
He comes in with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory in the 3rd round which against American Marcos Giron, which is his second 4-set win after winning his 1st round also in 4-sets. He however had to win his 2nd round in a nervy 5-setter clash.

It will be an interesting clash between the 4th round debutants who meet for the 2nd time this year. While Garin is much better play on Clay historically, Medvedev is looking comfortable and has dismissed his Clay woes perfectly. Daniil would be looking to revenge his Madrid Masters defeat while Garin will be looking at this as the perfect opportunity to go 1 up against the Russian.
