Karolína Muchová vs Andrea Petkovic: Preview
Muchová is twenty-four years old and has one title on the tour so far. The Czech has participated in a handful of tournaments this season, and has done well in a few as well. She was a Semifinalist at the Australian Open, stopped at that stage by Jennifer Brady. At Madrid she was a Quarter finalist, accounting for players like Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari, was ousted by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. In the French Open opener she will face German player Andrea Petkovic.
Petkovic has been ranked as high as No.9 in the World, and has six WTA Titles to her credit thus far. The German though has been in awful form for a while now. In the clay court leg of the season, she had to resort to playing Qualifiers to earn a place in events like the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, and unfortunately losing those watches too.
Her last match in the main draw of an event was a defeat in the first round of the Serbia Open at the hands of the eventual Champion Paula Badosa. At Strasbourg she lost in the qualifiers.
