Rafael Nadal continues his title defense in style demolishing yet another opponent in straight-sets as he marches into the 4th round for the 16th time at his favourite hunting ground as he looks for his 14th French Open title.

Nadal continues extending his streak of not having dropped a set for the 10th successive match at the Roland Garros after his 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 win over British No. 2 Cameron Norrie who put on a brave fight against the Spaniard.

Jannik Sinner reaches the 4th round successively after making a quarter-final run at the his debut in the 2020 French Open. He extends his record at the Grand Slam to 7-1 after his straight-set victory over Mikael Ymer winning 6-1, 7-5, 6-3.

Sinner had a tough road so far having forced to play the 5th set in the first round followed by a 4-set win in the 2nd round. He looked better in the 3rd round winning the match in almost 2.5 hours to set up the tie with Nadal.

This will be the third career meeting and 2nd of the year between the two. They first met in the quarter-finals of the 2020 French Open where Nadal won in straight-sets. They met again this year in the 2nd round of the 2021 Rome Masters where Nadal emerged victorious again in straight-sets, leads the head-to-head tie 2-0.

It will be a tough clash for Nadal against the better prepared Sinner who will be looking for his first win against the Spaniard. Nadal however will remain the favourite to win the tie and extend his lead against the Italian. Sinner will however be confident of his fighting and comeback skills, but that is subject to if Nadal presents him with the opportunity.
