The former world No.1, Naomi Osaka took to social media last month to share some special images of herself on the sets of ‘Sesame Street’, alongside ‘Elmo’ the muppet indicating that she’d be making an appearance on the beloved children’s show.

“Got Elmo out here taking selfies,” Osaka wrote alongside a photo with the notoriously ticklish Muppet.

Osaka isn’t the only big name making an appearance in the latest season. The tennis ace will be joined by pop star Billie Eilish, country music star Kacey Musgraves and poet Amanda Gorman, among others.

The episode featuring the Japanese will only air next year, on 6 January.

Osaka owns a line of skincare products which goes by the name of ‘Kinlo’ and in addition to sharing the insights that she has learned from her business venture, the 24-year-old will be seen talking about the importance of using sunscreen to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun, in the episode. The latest season of the show returns on 11 November, 2021.

The four time Grand Slam champion is in the midst of a tennis sabbatical after announcing an indefinite break stating concerns over her mental state following the US Open this year after losing in the third round to eventual finalist Leylah Fernandez.

However, the Japanese seems quite content with her decision as she has been seen enjoying life off the court after vacations in Greece and Italy.

Naomi has not made any formal statement regarding her return to the sport therefore her comeback remains a matter of speculation at the moment.

With the Australian Open just a couple of months away, many fans are questioning whether she’ll be making it back to defend her title as the 24 year-old has not posted any pictures or videos of training sessions.
