Nick Kyrgios has often been described as a maverick, volatile even. But there is no doubting his talent on the tennis court. The twenty-six year old Australian, who is currently ranked No.56 in the World, has often gone toe to toe with the very best in the World. Recently he impressed a lot of people with his ball shooting skills at a celebrity Basketball event

Currently on a break from tennis, Kyrgios used the time to take part in an event in Bondi Beach. In that event, which celebrated a partnership between Hennessey and the NBA, Kyrgios was shooting hoops alongside professional basketballers. One former NBL basketball star who happened to be there was Corey Williams. Williams was very impressed with what he saw from Kyrgios. Williams then appeared on the Bob and Andy’s SEN Radio show and when the topic of Kyrgios was brought up, he didn’t hold back.

Talking about Nick Kyrgios, Williams said, “Kyrgios got a jump shot,” he continued, “Put it to you like this, he shoots better than I shot as a pro. I promise you. The weakness in my game was outside shooting, and from what I saw with him playing, he got a jump shot.”

Williams added, “He would catch the ball and shoot, back pedal to half court, then catch the ball in stride — he hit like six, seven in a row. I promise you. Williams concluded by saying that, “The joy you see in his face playing, you know he loves the game. It reminded me of me. How much I loved the game when I was playing.

Nick Kyrgios had back in 2015 stated that Basketball was indeed his first love. On listening to Williams speak about him and gushing about his ball shooting skills, the Tennis star couldn’t agree more. He wrote on twitter that he plays tennis only because he has to, not because he wants to. And what he really wants to do is “hoop” and “vibe”.

Nick Kyrgios wrote, “Man, if you continue listening it’s actually sad hey because you guys are bang on, I just wanna hoop and vibe,” Kyrgios continued, “Homicide’ is one of my brothers, cut from the same cloth. I don’t wanna go play tennis lol I do because I got to.”

Nick Kyrgios is missing the clay court season, and the French Open. He will be seen competing on grass, and targeting the Wimbledon trophy.
