US Open 2021 welcome backed its fans to the stands this year, after the covid-19 pandemic forced the tournament to be played behind closed doors a year ago. The fans were not left disappointed, as they were treated to some magnificent tennis on Day One itself.
Arguably, the highlight of the day was the blockbuster clash between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andy Murray. The match did not disappoint, as it was a five-set thriller, that went in Tsitsipas’ favor. However, Murray was disappointed as to how the match unfolded, as Stefanos Tsitsipas took unnecessary toilet breaks, which disrupted the momentum of the game.
In his post match press conference, Andy Murray stated that he had lost all respect for Stefanos Tsitsipas due to his unsportsmanship-like conduct. Nick Kyrgios, who is never shy about giving his opinion, reacted to the situation, and made a sarcastic comment on Tsitsipas’ toilet breaks.

On an Instagram post on the US Open official account, Nick Kyrgios took a dig at Stefanos Tsitsipas. The post was originally meant to show the result of the thrilling encounter between Andy Murray and Stefanos Tsitsipas. However, Nick Kyrgios posted a comment which grabbed all the attention.
The Australian tennis player wrote, “How many number 2’s does this guy take,” referring to Tsitsipas’ toilet breaks. This comment garnished over 4,000 likes as tennis fans reacted to the Kyrgios’ take on the situation.
As for Nick Kyrgios, his US Open 2021 campaign ended too soon, as he was defeated in the first round itself. The Australian was defeated by Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets, to mark an end to his dismal hard court campaign.
