Father of the World No.1 is known for his bold rather controversial statements all over the internet. Three weeks ago he made a statement saying that Novak won’t be participating at the Australian Open. However, there haven’t been any confirmations over the statement by the world No.1 or his team.

Srdjan Djokovic said,They have to decide whether they will let Novak in. If they decide [to not let him], they have to stand behind their decision. He has won the Australian Open 9 times, he now wants to play – but they have to permit him to play. Novak will do what he thinks is the best for him, nobody will impose an opinion on him.”

He also talked about his son’s future, according to him Novak is going to win at least 4-5 more Grand Slams before he retires.

What to do if he ends up not going [to play the Australian Open]? We will wait for Roland Garros and his 21. Grand Slam title. He will win a few more Grand Slam titles until he retires: I think 4 or 5. He will win at least twice in Wimbledon and some other Slams for sure. Do you doubt that? You don’t need to be an expert, but Novak will play for another 2-3 years and this will be enough,” he added.
