‘Mr. and Mrs. Busta’ Spanish tennis star Pablo Carreno Busta marries longtime girlfriend Claudia Diaz

World No. 20 and Spanish No. 3, Pablo Carreno Busta becomes the latest player to tie the knot in 2021 post the conclusion of the regular season. Pablo married his longtime girlfriend Claudia Diaz in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family in Gijon in Spain.

Pablo and Claudia started dating nearly 5 years ago and currently reside in Barcelona where Claudia works as in an office in Barcelona having graduated from the University of Oviedo as a law graduate. The wedding took place at the La Riega Farm in Gijon and apart from the close family was also attended by Pablo’s coach Samuel Lopez and his Tour partner Roberto Carballes who also trains with him regularly.

Pablo posted the couple’s photo on his Instagram handle which received congratulatory comments from the official handles of the Grand Slams, Rafael Nadal, Marc Lopez, Feliciano Lopez and many others.

Pablo Carreno Busta had his best season on court in 2021

Pablo won 2 titles on the Tour this season, his best ever tally as he also finished the season with a record of 38-18 across all surfaces. Both of his titles came on clay, the 2021 Andalucia Open, an ATP-250 level tournament and the other one came in Germany where he won the ATP-500 Hamburg European Open, so far his biggest tour title.

The Spaniard also won a Bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held this year where despite losing to eventual silver medallist Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals, he defeated the heavy favourite and reigning World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, in 3-sets to claim the Bronze medal for his country at the Games.

With the 2021 ATP Cup set to begin from 1st January 2022 in Sydney, Pablo is set to miss his honeymoon as he plans to return to action soon on the Tour and with strict restrictions in Australia with regards to quarantine, Pablo will travel to Australia soon.
