Karolina Pliskova will be making her 10th Wimbledon appearance and her 9th main draw appearance when she plays her round 1 match at the Wimbledon 2021. Pliskova has reached the 4th round on 2 successive occasions in 2018 and 2019 which remain her best result at the All-England Club.

Pliskova will be playing in her 3rd Grass tournament of the season but is yet to win a match so far on the surface. She was defeated in the 1st rounds of both the WTA Berlin Open 2021 and then at the WTA Eastbourne International 2021. Tamara Zidansek will be playing in her 4th Wimbledon tournament this year and for the 2nd time in the main-draw after making her main-draw debut t the 2019 Wimbledon where she reached the 2nd round. She was defeated in the 1st round of the 2017 Wimbledon qualifiers and fell short in the final qualifying match at the 2018 Wimbledon.

Zidansek will be playing her 1st Grass tournament of the season as she chose not to play in any of the tournaments that lead to the Grand Slam in Wimbledon. She last played at the French Open 2021 where she was defeated in the semi-finals by runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
