Popyrin comes into this match after his third-round appearance at the 2021 US Open, where he was beaten by Britain’s Dan Evans in five sets. It has been a very rough time for the Aussie on the hard courts. Since the season began post-Wimbledon, Popyrin has been consistently bowing out of tournaments in the first two rounds.
