For Sania, playing on the big stage is not new ordeal. The Indian tennis star has been the flag bearer for many years. The Hyderabad girl has been a former World No.1 in the women’s doubles circuit, earlier in her career, when she joined forces with Swiss legend Martina Hingis. Sania is a multiple Grand Slam champion, who was at her dominant best pre-pregnancy. Since coming back onto the tour last year, the 34-year-old is yet to find her grove.

She was also dumped in the second round of 2021 Wimbledon, in the doubles event with partner Bethanie Mattek Sands. All said, Sania has represented India three times on the Olympic stage and the entire nation will pin hopes on her shoulder yet again.

Meanwhile, Raina who broke into the top-100 of the WTA rankings for the first time in her career this year, will be playing the mega event for the first time. She is yet to taste any success on the doubles circuit. On the other hand, Nadiia Kichenok/Lyudmyla Kichenok have won titles on the tour, and will be aiming to bring glory for their country.
