Patrick has been coaching Serena for a long time and they have been sharing a great partnership together. Recently, the French coach uploaded a video on his Instagram in which he spoke about “Self-Esteem”- The essence of a champion’s mindset.

The coach explained the importance of self-esteem in a person’s life and how to build it. The video gained praise from all over the world.

“Of course, I failed many times, but where the self-esteem is big enough, it’s okay to fail because failing is not the final destination. What’s the problem if in the end, you are going to succeed? Who’s going to remember that you failed 20 times? Nobody. But if you panic with the idea of failing, then you are not going to try,” said the French.

According to him falling is alright, it’s ok to fail because in the end, you will eventually succeed. Even if you failed 20 times no one will remember it because of your victory at the end. Self-esteem plays a very integral part because if you panic at the thought of failing you will never try and that will make you stagnant.

One has to come out of their comfort zone and try new things, this requires high self-esteem. If a person has low self-esteem it would be very difficult for him to come out of his comfort zone. There is a lack of motivation and then the going gets difficult. There are many out there who dream, but they are unable to fulfill it because they give up before they begin.

The French coach added, “If the self-esteem is too small, there is no way you are going to get out of your comfort zone. There is no way you’re going to try, there is no way you are going to work hard to achieve something that you don’t think you can get, and you’re not going to start. And we all know around us, so many people have dreams because they don’t try because they don’t believe have a chance to do it.”
