Elina Svitolina will be back on the Grass court for more match practice for the upcoming Wimbledon 2021 and will be featuring in her 2nd Grass tournament of the season. The Ukrainian last played at the WTA Berlin Open 2021 where she was defeated in the 1st round and will be looking for some wins here before going to Wimbledon.

Svitolina has good numbers this season but is yet to win a title this season. Her best runs so far came in the semi-finals of the Miami Open and Stuttgart Open where she failed to move into the finals on both occasions.

Paula Badosa will be making her Grass debut for the season as she opted to sit out of other tournaments held earlier on Grass this season. She will be back on Grass for the first time since her round 1 defeat at the 2019 Wimbledon where she entered the main draw from the qualifying stages.

Badosa last featured on the tour at the French Open 2021 where she was defeated in the quarter-finals by Tamara Zidansek in a crunch 3-setter match that went on for nearly 2.5 hours.

Paula will come into the tie with a career Grass record of 8-7 of which 5 victories came in the qualifying rounds she played in the 2019 Grass season. She has a season record of 23-8 after a fantastic Clay season where she was 17-3 reaching the quarter-finals in all 4 of her competitions. She also won the title at the WTA Serbia Open 2021.

Elina has a career Grass record of 15-19 but has improved massively on the surface since the 2016 season winning majority of her matches which she failed to do so earlier. She comes in with a season record at 21-11 having good record on both Clay and Hardcourts. She will be the favourite to win the clash but it won’t be an easy win as Paula has been in great form in the past few weeks.
