Novak Djokovic is a hot topic these days. The player has been in the headlines since the day he applied for a medical exemption against the COVID-19 vaccine to play at the Australian Open 2022. The AO authorities rejected the application at that time but recently they have accepted the application and Novak is granted a medical exemption.
But as he flew to Melbourne, he was stopped at the airport by the border police and was isolated and questioned for nine hours. He received detention after that and there is a possibility that his visa will get cancelled and Djokovic won’t be able to play at the Australian Open.
John Isner on Novak Djokovic
Many celebrities expressed their views on Novak’s detention. Some thought it was his fault that made the situation worse while others expressed sympathy towards the player. The Australians specifically liked it because Djokovic would play it may jeopardize their health.
American professional tennis player, John Isner also posted a tweet on the matter. According to him, the treatment Novak is receiving is totally unjustified. He said the Serb followed the rules and then came to Melbourne. Giving him detention against his will is not good and it’s a shame on society.
“What Novak is going through right now is not right. There’s no justification for the treatment he’s receiving. He followed the rules, was allowed to enter Australia, and now he’s being detained against his own will. This is such a shame,” Isner tweeted.
