Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be back at the French Open after missing it out last year due to his struggle with his injuries and fitness for more than 2 years now. He is a 2-time semi-finalist in Roland Garros, making the semis in 2013 and 2015. The local boy will play for the first time in the French Open 2021 after his 2nd round defeat in the 2019 French Open. He will come in with a 30-13 record at the Grand Slam.
This will be just his 3rd Clay tournament of the year and 6th of the season. He was defeated in the first round in both of his Clay appearances and is yet to win a set on Clay this season.
Yoshihito Nishioka will play his 6th French Open tournament this year when he takes the court on Monday. The Japanese has failed to gone past the 2nd round so far even after winning his first round games in 2019 and 2020. He enters the Grand Slam with a 7-5 record at the tournament.
This will be his 5th tournament of the season on Clay and will come from 2 consecutive quarter-final runs from the ATP Lyon Open 2021 and ATP Parma Open 2021.
