2021 was the closest Stefanos got to winning a Slam. After making the semi-finals of the 2021 Australian Open, he battled his way to the finals of the 2021 French Open where he was just a set away from winning his maiden Grand Slam title but a sensational comeback by Novak Djokovic, saw Stefanos blow a 2-0 lead to lose the match in 5-sets.

With high hopes from him at the next Slam, the Greek lost in the first round itself of the 2021 Wimbledon and was then shocked in the 3rd round of the 2021 US Open by Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz who won a thrilling 5-setter against Stefanos despite being bageled by Stef in the 4th set.

With a dip in his form in the 2nd half of the season where he failed to reach a single finals after an excellent first half, Tsitsipas will be working hard for the 2022 season. His proven record on hardcourts and claycourts certainly make him a favourite for a Grand Slam next year but within the current generation, his best chance is certainly at the 2022 French Open.
